James – 9 Months – 1.24.10

The weather for James’s 9 month shoot was less than ideal being January in Pennsylvania so while we were sad to be inside, I was very excited to get to use my new backdrops. While they may not be ideal for every shoot they were a fun change from the normal nursery or living room background. Michele & Jon – Joseph Ambler Inn – 10.10.09

Michele and Jon got married at the beautiful Joseph Ambler Inn which is nestled in the middle of bustling North Wales, PA. Having worked at the front desk of the Inn for almost 3 years, but never shooting a wedding there, I was very excited when I found out their location. The Inn is made up of 5 individual buildings holding both guest rooms and a fine dining restaurant. Michele and Jon were having a very small and intimate affair with only immediate family in attendance. Their ceremony and reception both took place in the cozy John Roberts House. Before the ceremony started we were able to get some individual portraits as well as some some shots of the homemade decorations.

They handmade these owls to use as name cards on the tables. They also made for a cute backdrop for a shot of their rings.

Michele and Jon live out of state so they made most of their arrangements over the phone site unseen. She gave the florist some color ideas but had absolutely no idea what her flowers were going to end up looking like until that morning. Needless to say The Rhoads Garden in North Wales did an amazing job because this is one of my favorite bouquets to date and Michele was thrilled!

The ceremony took place in the living room area in front of the large stone fireplace.

After the ceremony we took everyone outside for some family shots on the front porch.

Since only the family was in attendance we had plenty of time to walk around the property with just Michele and Jon to get some photos of the happy bride and groom.

After making a pit stop to get their photo with the carved bears we headed back behind the Thomas Wilson House where we were lucky enough to find the family of wild turkeys that live in the woods behind the property. We had to take a photo of them because Jon didn’t think anyone would believe us when we returned back to the reception telling everyone we saw a group of wild turkeys. Well Jon here you go!

We finally headed back to the house so they could enjoy their luncheon.

Amie & Dave – Engagement Session – Doylestown, PA – 7.5.09

For Amie & Dave’s engagement session we headed into downtown Doylestown. We didn’t have any particular locations in mind so we just wandered around town and stopped when we saw something that caught our eye. Our first stop was the Main Street Baptist Church to take some pictures in front of the bright red doors.

Next we headed a little ways down the street and found an empty house for sale which had this cool slate porch on the back.

No engagement session is complete without a stop at the Doylestown Court House…

We made one last stop on the way back to the cars on this set of steps…
