Justine & Nate – Bridal Fashion – Cape May, NJ – 6.13.2011

Justine and Nate will be getting married Labor Day weekend in the Philadelphia area and like many couples they wanted to be able to capture a variety of photos of just the two of them on their big day, but due to time constraints or location a fancy lengthy photo shoot is not an option. They opted to do a bridal fashion shoot down in Cape May, NJ which allowed them to dress up and get those additional photos at a location away from their wedding site. Normally these shoots are done after the wedding but they decided to do this one before so they could use the photos as a guest signature book at their reception. Guest signature books with photos from your engagement shoot (or bridal fashion shoot) are the perfect addition to your wedding day, and can be displayed for years to come in your new home together. Just a disclaimer for those who are curious which I am sure is everyone, this is not Justine’s actual wedding dress nor is this what Nate will be wearing either. The dress was bought on clearance just for the shoot and the bouquet was handmade by yours truely with flowers bought from Cape Winds Florist. Her hair and makeup however were done by the Accent on Beauty Salon. Here is a sneak peek from their shoot with more photos to follow. Steph & Bobby – Stonebridge Inn – 7.4.09

Steph & Bobby got married on the 4th of July at the Stonebridge Inn in Union Dale, PA. Never having been to Stonebridge or Union Dale for that matter I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but the grounds and view were beautiful. I had Krista Patton 2nd shooting with me who went over to the grooms parents house to shoot Bobby and the guys getting ready while I followed around Steph and the girls at Stonebridge.

We had to be a bit sneakier trying to get some photos of the girls before the ceremony as the guests were wandering about the property early trying to search out the bride.

The ceremony took place on a hillside overlooking the mountains. The altar, candle, flower petal holders as well as many other items were all hand made by family members for Steph & Bobby! It added a very nice personal touch to the day!

Steph & Bobby did a traditional Celtic Handfasting Ceremony where their hands are tied together with ribbon to symbolize being tied together forever.

After the ceremony we headed down to the road to a big open field on the hillside with a very rundown old barn that made an excellent backdrop for some bride & groom pictures.

Seeing as how it was the 4th of July no wedding would be complete without a HUGE basket of sparklers for the guests!

Some of their family & friends got together to sing the bride and groom a song.

Mid reception I wanted to head back up the hill to the ceremony site to mess around with the setting sun. It was on this little adventure that I was like an inch away from stepping on a fairly large snake. Thank you to Steph who was paying attention and screamed…which resulted in my screaming at the top of my lungs and high stepped it on outta there like a little girl! Nature is nice but I am a city girl if that wasn’t painfully obvious already!

Stonebridge sort of has a no fireworks policy…as you can see it wasn’t followed very well but it was the 4th of July so who could blame them! Image shot by Krista.

Jon & Anna's Engagement Session

It seems like every year I go to Cape May on vacation I end up starting the week off with a photo shoot…why should this year be any different. Jon & Anna both have a lot of love for Cape May, they have family there, they got engaged there so why not do their engagement photos there too. First we headed over to Cape May Winery & Vinyard where we sampled a few wines and started our photo session.

After stopping for a dinner break we were off to one of my favorite hotels in Cape May…Congress Hall where we now had that fabulous golden light from the setting sun.

What would an engagement session at the beach be without a few pictures in the sand.

To our amusement as we were walking down the beach towards our car we saw not one, not two but THREE different families with THREE different photographers all lined up doing their “Family Beach Portraits”. I won’t deny that the white sandy beach, vibrant green dunes with the bright blue sky in the background looks gorgeous at sunset (why do you think we were out there) but you can’t help but giggle at the sight of 3 families all dressed alike in their matching white, khakki & navy outfits lined up down the beach getting their yearly family beach portrait done!!

Finally, Cape May is unique from the other beaches that run along the Jersey coast because it has Sunset Beach which is on the edge of the Delaware Bay and faces the west which means beautiful sunsets!!
